In cooperation with the Polish company Madex, the calibration of operational flow measurement and on-cam optimization were performed at unit TG4 of HPP Rożnów (Poland).

The Gibson method (pressure-time method) was chosen for calibration of the operational measurement based on Winter-Kennedy method (record of pressure difference on turbine spiral case). On-cam optimization was performed at two heads.

The calibration can be considered successful despite the challenging on-site conditions (curved penstock with graduated cross-section changes etc.).

Optimization results show that existing head-depended on-cam requires adjustments primarily in the lower operating range, where the unit efficiency can be increased approximately 1 ÷ 6 %.
