In March 2026, the measurement of bulb Kaplan turbine (power 3 MW) at the hydro power plant Kadaň was performed.

During turbine refurbishment the changes of guide vanes control kinematic were applied. Due to this fact the new optimal ON-CAM relation had to be determined.

The measurement results showed a deviation of optimal ON-CAM from the existing one. The ON-CAM optimization can bring an efficiency increase approx. 1 % in average at middle and high unit power.
