On 30th of March 2023 the OSC Company performed measurement of piston axial force at renovated turbine runner of the unit TG1 HPP Lipovec (runner diameter  3 614 mm, 4 blades, owner Slovenské elektrárne).

The final machining processes and runner assembly were executed in the workshop of ČKD Blansko Holding Company where the actual measurement of piston axial force was subsequently carried out. This approach resulted in time and cost savings compared to measurement at the power plant.

The result shows similar axial forces before and after runner renovation, but the movement of runner blades is now smoother and force oscillations are approx. two orders of magnitude lower.
